Chichiri Museum

Chichiri Museum also know as Museum of Malawi is an important cultural center. The museum offers varied displays of ethnography, archaeology, history and natural history. Chichiri Museum is also famous for its rare exhibits that are displayed in an open-air environment. The museum was built in 1965 and publicly opened in 1966, and since then it has been a major tourist attraction in Malawi.

Its located along kasunga crescent just next to Blantyre civic centre and about 400m from chichiri shopping centre. The Museum is open from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm. The cost of entry is USD0.50. A full tour of the museum needs about an hour and half to two hours.
