Karonga West

Karonga west, the unique integrated commercial, industrial, academic & residential community in karonga district, wholly-owned by the Karonga Town Council, its spurring up its investments towards the development of various infrastructure facilities and has invested a total of USD1.5 billion since inception.

The enhancement projects are focused on infrastructure investments across Karonga west and are termed top priority in line with the ongoing community development planning initiatives. Karonga west currently offers over 140km of internal road network and has successfully completed enhancements of new entrances, road widening and exit points, all set to ease the traffic flow to and from the development.

Karonga Mall is located to the south of the CBD and forms part of the first phase of a broader mixed use development that will comprise offices, motor showrooms, a hotel and conference centre and a fuel station – a further 20 000 square metre expansion. For retail the area offers excellent retail spaces suitable for the biggest retailers or entrepreneurs to set up shop. Each development has its own retail facility with ample parking lots that are conveniently incorporated within the area. The shops are well located providing easy access to both residents and visitors, as more and more businessmen step in setting up trendy boutiques, chic shops, delightful restaurants and supermarkets.

Being a key zone in Karonga west, the industrial Zone has emerged as a powerhouse in manufacturing ideal for various industries – from light to medium and heavy. It provides investors and manufacturers the perfect breeding ground with the world’s most advanced infrastructure and outstanding facilities tailored to suit the requirements of modern industries. The industrial complex features pre-built Light Industrial Units that are made ready for leasing to new or small business ventures. The west village is a modern, gated flats complex comprising 19 uniquely designed residential buildings complete with a full range of value-added facilities such as a swimming pool, gym, Jacuzzi, landscaped gardens, churches, shops, cafes, restaurants, clinic and pharmacy.
